It’s time to #BackYouth

The Brief

We filmed and edited 5 pieces of branded video content for the YMCA. The Event videos were used by partners and the YMCA across social media in the days following the event and leading up to the election.

Our Producer travelled up to London to direct the shoot and interview key people at the event, including Alistair Campbell, Kwajo Tweneboa and Salma Shah.

We asked them all about the new government and how it can help the youth of today to use their voice and make a real impact on politics.

Purpose of the campaign

Leveraging the election buzz, we aimed to create some social-first content demonstrating the power of the youth of today. By giving them a voice through social video, our clients were hoping to spread the word and show what an inclusive environment it can be. With so much momentum both negative and positive behind the election, we knew we needed to be tactful and show a side of hope and positivity through the hopeful youth. Our content aimed to spark conversations, inspire action, and demonstrate the potential of youth to shape society.

What did the brand want achieve?

Youth Power Hour brought together political figures and young people to discuss youth engagement in politics. Topics included the political treatment of youth, understanding the political system, and youth’s role in shaping society. The overarching message was to focus on what young people can do to hold the next government to account and what the government can do to support young people more.

What innovate approach did we take with this?

Facing tight deadlines with a geographically dispersed team, we embraced agility and efficiency. Our producer, Libby, pre-selected the best footage on the train ride back, ensuring a smooth transition for our editing wizard, Felix. This streamlined workflow saved precious time and allowed us to deliver high-quality content at lightning speed.
