Our Values and The Importance of Social Responsibility
We believe in better business for our people, our planet, and society. We care deeply about our impact on the planet as a production company. That’s why we are proud to be a Certified B Corp, part of Ecologi’s climate-positive workforce, and a 1% for the Planet member.
We believe that businesses should be run for the good of society, treating their people and the planet with respect and dignity. The creative industries in particular are notorious for bad pay, poor conditions and long hours. So since day one we have set out to change it. We believe that taking this people and planet focused approach ultimately makes us a better business, and with an energised team packed full of ambition, this can be seen in the work we deliver.
That is why since day one we have set ourselves up to be different and why we are continuously pushing ourselves to improve.
1% for the planet
A commitment to give 1% of our turnover away every year to planet focused causes.
Living Wage Foundation Employer
Because we believe everyone deserves a wage they can live off, no matter their role. While our pay grades rise above this, it also represents a commitment to keeping pay aligned to the cost of living and ensuring freelancers and people such as cleaners are paid fairly too.
Ecologi Climate Positive Workforce
For over two years we have been part of Ecologi’s Climate Positive Workforce, offsetting the carbon of our employees, both at work and in person. This offsetting works on accredited projects around the world to help tackle the climate emergency. We also plant trees every month and to date have offset over 100T of CO2 and planted over 6000 trees.
Better Business Act
The Better Business Act is about transforming the way we do business so that every single company in the UK, whether big or small, takes ownership of its social and environmental impact. Together with hundreds of other businesses, we’re taking a straightforward ask to government: change Section 172 of the Companies Act to ensure that company directors are responsible for advancing the interests of shareholders alongside those of wider society and the environment. We already have embedded these values in our Articles of Association as part of our BCorp submission, so this is the logical next step.
Plant One – Nature Positive Cornwall
We are working in collaboration with Plant One, helping to restore the lost woodlands of Cornwall, planting native Atlantic oak woods and creating local, nature based solutions to help tackle the climate emergency. This is more than just tree planting, this is us trying to help biodiversity thrive in a region challenged by climate change.
